On occasion of the “Dive into Time” exhibition held in Florence and after the recent presentation of the Radiomir 1940 Minute Repeater Tourbillon GMT PAM00600, Officine Panerai introduces more novelties and in particular a new collection named Panerai Luminor Due watch replica (meaning Two in Italian), the result of a challenge taken by the designers and engineers of the Panerai Manufacture to offer enthusiasts a new interpretation of the brand’s iconic watch while achieving a reduction in the thickness of the case compared to the historic one which is up to 40% for some models. The first one is the Luminor Due 3 Days 42 mm whose case will be just 10.5 mm thick, the thinnest ever created by Panerai.
The case has the classic bridge device with sealing lever which protects the winding crown, and every component has a polished finish. The sapphire crystal reveals the classic minimalist Panerai dial with sandwich construction and the small seconds dial at 9 o’clock.
Inside, the in-house developed and manufactured P.1000 hand-wound movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a three-day power reserve. The movement also contains the device which stops the balance and zeroes the seconds hand (seconds reset) when setting the time, for easy synchronization of the watch with the reference signal.
Supplied with a black alligator strap and water-resistant to 3 bar (about 30 metres / 100 feet), the Luminor Due 3 Days 42 mm will be available in stainless steel with black dial (PAM00676) or in red gold with dark grey dial (PAM00677) with retail prices of Euro 7,900 and Euro 21,500 respectively. The movement of the red gold version is embellished with a skeletonised three-quarter plate.
Imperceptibly thicker at 10.7 mm, the Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic is a bit larger with its diameter of 45 mm.
Water resistant to (about 30 metres / 100 feet) like the manual model, the Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic 45 mm will be available in stainless steel with black dial (PAM00674) or in red gold with dark grey dial (PAM00675) with prices of Euro 10,400 and Euro 24,900 respectively.
